Black Star Management Committee Chairman, George Afriyie has disclosed that the accommodation facility allotted the Stars for the 2017 AFCON use in Gabon is below par.

The Stars have been based in Port-Gentil together with Group D mates Uganda, Egypt and Mali.

Mr. Afriyie explained “my worry is the teams based in Franceville, Port-Gentil and Oyem. In terms of hotel facilities, I don’t think it meets a four star or three star hotel at best two star hotel,” but was quick to stress the situation need not derail the Stars who have endured similarly poor conditions.

“It is not really going to affect us, we need to just psyche our players to accept at least maximum of a three weeks tournament. They need to adjust themselves to that. They are Africans so they know how to adjust themselves to it.”

Ghana’s takes on Uganda in its first game on January 17.
