Black Stars and Swindon Town goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott has been named in the League Two Team of the Season at the EFL’s end of season awards.

Wollacott beat some of the division’s top stoppers, including Northampton Town’s Liam Roberts and Forest Green Rovers’ Luke McGee, to the number one spot to cap off a superb first full year at Swindon.

The Swindon Town goalkeeper manned the post on 46 occasions in all competitions.

The 25-year-old has made 118 saves making him the third most successful goalkeeper in achieving that in the English fourth tier league. That number also makes him the fifth best in terms of save percentage(75.2%) in the league.

“Swindon’s goalkeeper has enjoyed an outstanding campaign, especially during the first few months of the season. Having conceded a respectable 45 goals in 38 games, Wollacott has regularly offered his attacking teammates the opportunity to go and win games with excellent saves and an assured presence between the sticks,” wrote the club.

“His 11 clean sheets have also come during a campaign in which he has been called up for his country, Ghana, and helped the Black Stars qualify for the World Cup in Qatar. Town will be keen to tie him down to a new contract with his deal running out in the summer.”

Jojo Wollacott has also been nominated for Swindon Town Player of the season following his incredible displays for the club this season.
