Kumasi Asante Kotoko has officially announced the capture of former Hearts of Oak player Mohammed Alhassan in the ongoing second round transfer window.

The 30-year-old has signed a one-year contract with a year option of renewal with the Kumasi-based club after passing a mandatory medical examination earlier today.

The Porcupine Warriors took to their official social media pages to make the announcement on Thursday, February 9.

The Phobians parted company with the experienced central defender by mutual termination in January.

Under Samuel Boadu's management, Mohammed Alhassan helped the Rainbow club win a double, the Ghana Premier League and FA Cup, in the 2020–21 season.

Alhassan joined Hearts of Oak on a free transfer in 2018 from West African Football Academy (WAFA) and aided the club to win the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League title and two FA Cup trophies.

Alhassan was part of the Ghana home-based national team that eliminated Benin and Nigeria to secure qualification to the 2022 CHAN tournament in Algeria.

However, he didn't make the final squad for the tournament which ended few days ago in Algeria.
