Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has confirmed that the team will begin their pre-season training camp on Wednesday, July 30, in Cape Coast.
The Ghanaian FA Cup champions returned home fresh from a hard-fought victory at the 2025 Toyota Cup, where they edged South African giants Kaizer Chiefs on penalties at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Speaking to the media, Zito revealed that while players would be given a few days of rest, they would regroup midweek to kick off preparations for the new season.
“I shouldn’t go all out at the moment. We will start running very soon. Maybe on Wednesday we’ll begin the pre-season camp in Cape Coast,” the veteran gaffer said.
Following the Toyota Cup, Kotoko’s focus now shifts to the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 tournament, scheduled for August 20–24 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The tournament will serve as a crucial warm-up for the team’s domestic league campaign and CAF Confederation Cup aspirations for the 2025/26 season.
