Manchester City could be without Vincent Kompany for their Champions League clash with Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday.

Kompany was withdrawn from City’s 2-1 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday following a collision with Claudio Bravo which left him with a head injury.

The Belgian sat out training on Tuesday morning before the City squad flew out to Germany.

However, John Stones will be available for selection after being rested at Selhurst Park and should step in.

City do not have any other major injury concerns, although Yaya Toure, who scored twice at Palace, cannot play as he is not registered.

Pep Guardiola kept Ilkay Gundogan out of his squad at the weekend and started David Silva on the bench, and both men are likely to be restored to the starting line-up at Borussia Park.

Claudio Bravo will return in goal after missing the victory against Barcelona through suspension.
