Arsenal moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League with a 1-0 win at Leicester, secured by Gabriel Martinelli's goal early in the second half.

The Gunners' victory piles the pressure on Manchester City, who face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening with the champions currently in second place.

Arsenal dominated the game at the King Power Stadium but went into half-time level after Leandro Trossard's brilliant curling finish was disallowed following a VAR review for a foul on Leicester goalkeeper Danny Ward by Ben White.

But Martinelli helped to soften that blow just moments into the second half when he slid the ball past Ward after latching onto Trossard's pass, and Mikel Arteta's side comfortably saw out the contest to record back-to-back wins for the first time in over a month.

Leicester now turn their attentions to the FA Cup, with Blackburn visiting the King Power Stadium on Tuesday; kick-off 7.30pm. Brendan Rodgers' side then travel to Southampton on Saturday, kick-off 5.30pm.

Arsenal's next game is at home to Everton - who beat them 1-0 earlier this month - on Wednesday; kick-off 7.45pm. The Gunners then host Bournemouth on Saturday; kick-off 3pm.
