Ghana's only continental representatives Medeama SC have been eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup after 1-0 defeat at MO Bejaia in Algeria.

Needing a draw to qualify for the semi-final of the competition, Medeama held the Algerians to a goalless first half but were undone by a  52nd-minute strike from Bejaia midfielder Morgan Beltorangal.

The defeat left Medeama in the third position despite having the same points, 8, as Bejaia.

The Algerians got a 0-0 result in Ghana last month and thus join group leaders, TP Mazembe in the final four on the head to head rule.

Mazembe also defeated Young Africans in the other Group match by 3-1 in Congo.
