Tottenham suffered a concerning new injury blow as Mohammed Kudus was forced off early against Sunderland.

Kudus, who has started all of Spurs’ last nine Premier League games, went down off the ball and was seen holding his left thigh in the 16th minute of Sunday’s top-flight match in north London.

The 25-year-old required treatment on the pitch before being replaced by Randal Kolo Muani and heading straight down the tunnel.

Kudus’ injury comes just days after Spurs sanctioned the £35million departure of Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, the former West Ham United star is expected to undergo further assessment to determine the extent of the injury.
