Asante Kotoko head coach Mariano Barreto has expressed concerns over the attitude of his players ahead of the MTN FA Cup quarter-final clash against Berekum Chelsea.

Holders Kotoko have a date with 2010 semifinalist Berekum Chelsea at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday at 3:00 pm.

However, the Porcupine Warriors have not been at the best in recent weeks since losing to Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.

Kotoko have recorded two losses and a draw since after the 1-0  defeat to their rivals Hearts of Oak. They pick only a point in their last 3 games and Barreto has called on his players to push above their weight if they stand a chance to win silverware this season.

Meanwhile, Nana Yaw Amponsah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kotoko says the club will decide the future of head coach Mariano Barreto at the end of the season after failing to win the League title.

The CEO was answering questions on the future of the Portuguese after losing out on winning the Ghana Premier League to Hearts of Oak.

But according to Nana Yaw Amponsah, the club will only take decision on the coach after the end of the MTN FA Cup.

“For us, we have a contract with him [Mariano Barreto] and he just spent just six months with us and he is playing in the MTN FA Cup so let us hold for him at the moment.

“At the end of the season, we will access him and if he has not met our target, we will take a decision,” Nana Yaw Amponsah shared in an interview on Asempa FM on Thursday.
