Black Maidens captain, Mukarama Abdulai, Black Queens duo Elizabeth Addo and Portia Boakye has been nominated for 2018 CAF Women's Best Player award after a stellar performance at the U-17 World Cup in Uruguay.

Mukarama is among 15 nominees for the award and will be hoping to claim the individual accolade after excelling at the world stage with the Black Maidens.

The Northern Ladies striker scored 7 times in 4 games for the Maidens at the World Cup clinched 2 women of the match accolade.

The young striker’s goal-scoring prowess is of no doubt as she netted 12 goals in 4 games for Ghana in the qualifiers to the 2018 Women's World Cup.

At 16, Mukarama is the youngest nominee on the shortlist which includes big names like reigning African Footballer of the year Asisat Ohoala, one 2015 winner Gaelle Enganamouit, and South African forward Chrestinah Kgatlana.

The winner of the award will be announced on January 8, 2019, at a ceremony in Dakar, Senegal.
