Nigeria vs Ghana: Afena-Gyan provides injury update ahead of return leg

Black Stars Felix Afena-Gyan has disclosed that he is doing well after sustaining a minor injury during the clash against Nigeria on Friday night.

The AS Roma forward started for the Black Stars last night when the side hosted the Super Eagles at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the first leg of the playoff tie for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In the second half of the clash, Felix Afena-Gyan had to be substituted after going down with a muscle pull.

 He has taken to his social media to reveal that he is doing ‘okay’ and ready for the trip to Nigeria for the second leg of the playoff tie.

“Amazing crowd! Grateful for the show of love and support. I'm ok.

“We go again on Tuesday. Keep the faith,” the teenager posted on Twitter.

Ghana and Nigeria have it all to play for in the second leg on Tuesday at the Mashood Abiola Stadium in Abuja where Nigeria will have the home advantage.

The winner over two legs will earn one of Africa’s five tickets to the 22nd FIFA World Cup finals, scheduled for 14th November – 18th December this year in Qatar.
