The media has been advised to desist from sewing seeds of separation within the senior national team the Black Stars by spreading unsubstantiated rumours.

The call according to The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Pious Enam Hadzie, came from the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II when the team paid a courtesy call on him prior to the match with Ethiopia.

There have been speculations of divisions within the Black Stars after the captain Asamoah Gyan while being substituted, refused to hand over his custom made armband to deputy captain Andre Ayew.

Mr Hadzie says Otumfour advised that the media should stop spreading unnecessary and non-existent division in the team.

He insisted the team is unified and solidly committed to one another. The team at every meeting is present with the deputy and they compare and share ideas, he said.
