President Akufo-Addo has announced that he will reinstate Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide after being exonerated from the Australia visa scandal.

Pius Enam Hadzide was suspended by President Akufo-Addo together with the acting Director General of the National Sports Authority, Robert Sarfo Mensah after the two were implicated in the visa racketeering for some 60 fake journalists and athletes.

The President said he received a report on the issue when he arrived from South Africa last Friday and has made a decision to reinstate Pius Enam Hadzide.

“Upon my return from South Africa on a state visit I’ve received the report on the Australian Visa scandal which has exonerated the suspended Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports from any complicity in the visa fraud. I’ll lift his suspension on Monday and return him to office.

“We have seen greater accountability of public officials, the allegations of corruption or misconduct leveled against the two Deputy Chiefs of Staff at the Presidency, against the Minister designated for Energy, against the Minister for Trade and Industry in the so-called cash for seat scandal, against the suspended Upper West Regional Minister were investigated by independent agencies i.e the Police or Parliament and found to be baseless and without foundation.
