Prosper Narteh Ogum says Asante Kotoko striker George Mfegue is a very intelligent striker and happy to be working with him.

His comment comes on the back of the Cameroonian's striker match-winning strike against Medeama SC over the weekend.

George Mfegue netted the only goal of the game when Kotoko beat Medeama at the Baba Yara Stadium.

According to Prosper Narteh, Mfegue is an intelligent player who reads the game very well.

Speaking to the media he said Nfegue's position awareness is great.

"He has a lot of energy in him, he is a very intelligent player, offensively and defensively he knows how to position himself and also how to distribute his energy throughout the game.

The energy he uses from the beginning of the game is the same energy he finishes. He is a very important player in the team and I am happy with him.

George Mfegue Omgba scored in the 79th minute on Sunday to ensure Kotoko secured all the three points to extend their unbeaten run to six games.

Mfegue who was on hand for a brace missed from the spot after Richmond Lamptey was fouled in the box.

Vincent Atinga and Kwasi Donsu came very close to hitting the back of the net for the visitors but Kotoko goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim pulled two brilliant saves to deny them.

Asante Kotoko finally broke the deadlock 11 minutes from time through George Mfegue who beat Medeama SC goalkeeper Boris Mandjui. Mfegue drove into the box and then unleashed a powerful low strike into the far right corner to send the crowed into a wild jubilation.

Boris later saved Mfegue’s penalty to cap off an outstanding individual display that merited the Man of the Match award.

Asante Kotoko have stretched their lead at the top of the table to 30 points – six points ahead of second placed Aduana FC who play Dreams FC on Monday.
