The worst kept secret in Ghana boxing is out after Rising Star Promotions, the promotors of WBO World Super Bantamweight champion Isaac Dogboe confirmed that his world title bout with fellow undefeated Mexican champion Jessie Magdaleno has been tentatively set for April 28 in the United States of America.

The explosive bout was confirmed on Thursday afternoon at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra but Dogboe's manager Marwan Zakhem maintained that the date and venue to determine the overall champion of the division has not yet been set.

Mr Zakhem also disclosed that Dogboe-Magdaleno bout promoted by Bob Arum's Top Rank Promotions is likely to happen on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao versus Mike Alvarado bout slated for the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas.

The top brass of Ghana boxing were present at the launch with the Special Advisor to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr Owusu Ansah, Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) President, Peter Zwennes, Head of Technical of Rising Star Promotions, Yoofi Boham and marketing and branding guru Rex Danquah all delivering addresses in support of Ghana boxing.

At points of their respective address, the GBA President, Zwennes and the Special Advisor to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr Owusu Ansah described the 23-year-old interim champion as the brightest prospect in Ghana boxing indicating that they will support him to achieve his goal of dominating the bantamweight division.

Mr Boham followed in a similar vein, stating that Dogboe was poised to fulfill his (Boham's) prediction that he will be a world champion.

He urged Dogboe to go on and defeat Magdaleno in order to become the " only legitimate world champion in Ghana" currently.
