Russia opened their 2018 World Cup account against Saudi Arabia with a 5-0 victory.


The host started with share determination and grabbed an early goal in the 12th minute through Gazinskiy Yury.

Russia had to make an early substitution as well when Dzagoev had to make way for Denis Cheryshev.

The Villareal forward came on and make a great impact as he grabbed Russia's second in the 43rd minute.

Russia took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Russia's Gazinskiy scored the first goal

They started with the same intensity in the second half and second-half substitute Artem Dzyuba scored the 3rd on the 71st-minute mark.

Cheryshev scored his second and Russia's 4th in added time before Alexandr Golovin scored a last-minute freekick to make it 5-0 to Russia.
