Nigeria turned on a better performance this time as they beat Iceland 2-0 in their second group game of Russia 2018.

Both teams needed positive results but it was the Nigerians that were more determined.

After playing a dull first half, Nigeria came in stronger in the second half.

A quick counter-attack on the 49th minute allowed Chelsea winger Victor Moses to slide the ball to Ahmed Musa who made no mistake and unleashed a shot into the net.

Nigeria were confident from that end and got the cushion in the 75th minute, Ahmed Musa burst into a wonderful run, rounded the Iceland goalkeeper and slotted the ball home to make it 2-0.

Iceland did not sit back and went in search of a goal, they won a penalty in the 83rd minute but Everton forward Gylfi Sigurdsson missed.
