Sad about Osam-Duodu’s death but satisfied he achieved so much - Oti Akenteng

The Technical Director for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Francis Oti Akenteng has described the death of fellow coach, Osam-Duodu as a big loss but added swiftly he was satisfied with the full life he had.

According to the GFA technical man, the late coach achieved everything he set his eyes on in soccer describing him as a high caliber coach adding the current crop of players must acquaint themselves with the phenomenal work of the fallen statesman.

Coach Osam-Duodu succumbed to death at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital on Tuesday after a spell of illness aged 78.

He won Ghana's 1978 African Cup as well as leading the Black Satellites to the 1993 African Youth (U-20) Championship and securing a silver medal at the 1993 FIFA World Youth Championship.

He was also in charge of the Black Stars during the 2002 African Cup of Nations, held in Mali.

He had stints coaching in other African countries and won the 2005 U-17 African title with Gambia.
