Samuel Inkoom trains with Hearts of Oak ahead of Ghana Premier League return

Former Asante Kotoko defender, Samuel Inkoom has begun training with Hearts of Oak as he gears up for a move to the club.

The right-back today, Tuesday, March 15 trained under the watchful eyes of head coach Samuel Boadu who is assessing him before a decision would be taken.

Hearts Of Oak training was held at the St Thomas Aquinas Park as they prepare for the upcoming clash against AshantiGold.

The former FC Basel defender, Inkoom has been clubless after leaving Georgian side, Torpedo Kutaisi following the expiration of his contract last year.

Inkoom in a recent interview said he would love to return to the Ghana Premier League despite offers from outside the shores of the country.

"When you are a free agent and done with your contract, a lot of clubs (not only Ghana) will ask if you can come and help the team," he said.

"I’m a professional footballer and I have an agent. There have been a lot of offers from Ghanaian clubs and clubs outside Ghana as well.

"At this point in time, I want to decide very well. I’m also talking to my family to help me make a decision as well so I would love to play in the Ghana Premier League,” he said.

He was linked to his former side, Asante Kotoko but is now on the verge of signing for the reigning Ghana Premier League champions as a free agent.

Samuel Inkoom, the 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup winner has made 44 appearances for the Black Stars scoring 1 goal.
