Rumours making rounds in Kumasi suggest that suspended National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Afoko is likely to be named the next Chief Executive of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Though the rumours suggest that Mr Afoko is the favourite of  Manhyia Palace for the job, his spokesperson, Nana Yaw Osei has said they had not been approached.

However, he added that his boss is a known Kotoko supporter and also has full respect for the Asantehene (Kotoko life patron) so will never turn down the opportunity to serve club.

“I know he reveres and respect the Otumfuor immensely and will never disappoint him if duty calls. I can also tell you that no one has approached Mr Afoko in respect of the matter. It is a rumour which I also heard a couple of days ago,” he said, according to atinkaonline.

On Mr Afoko's lack of experience in club management, his spokesperson said there have been several managers who have achieved  great honours for the Kotoko club with little or no experience in club management.

“I believe that Mr Afoko when assigned any role executes it to the best of his ability which is mostly applauded. I know that should the rumour turn out to be true, he will give off his best and make Kotoko go places”, he maintained.
