The Swedish Supreme Court of Appeal has overlooked an appeal filed by convicted Ghanaian Footballer Kwame Bonsu following charges of rape levelled against him by his Swedish wife Maria Magnusson some months back.
The 22 year old footballer had his contract terminated by his Club and was sentenced to two years in prison for assaulting and raping his wife but the Court of Appeal reduced the sentence to one year and ten months.
The Swedish District Court had previously sentenced Bonsu to two years in jail.Â
This latest development means Bonsu will serve his one year and ten months sentence unless he goes for another appeal to see the judgement reversed.
