Top Scorers in Europe's Top Five Leagues

Club football takes a back seat for the next two weeks as the international break comes into action.

With Europe’s top five leagues through the first quarter, PrimeNews takes a closer look at the leading top scorers and how they have performed so far.


Kylian Mbappe

Forget about Neymar, 19-year-old Mbappe has been the shining light for Paris Saint Germain this season with 11 goals and 4 assists to his name so far.

Emiliano Sala

FC Nantes Emiliano Sala has been in sensational form for the Western France side this season. The Argentine is the joint top scorer in Ligue One with 11 strikes to his name. Sala is however still without an assist this season.


Scoring goals has never been a problem for Neymar. The Brazilian is 3rd on the list with his impressive 10 goals and 6 assists for the season so far.
Neymar was on target for PSG on Sunday, scoring a 64th-minute penalty as they pilled more misery on Thierry Henry’s misfiring Monaco.


Lionel Messi

The Barcelona talisman is a scoring machine and there is no doubt about that, Messi has managed a decent 9 goals and 5 assists in the Spanish top flight this season.

Luis Suarez

Messi’s teammate and Luis Suarez is also on the list, having scored the same number of goals as his partner, 9 goals with 4 assist.

Cristhian Stuani
Stuani scored both of Girona's goals as they held Barcelona to a 2-2 draw at Camp Nou early on in the season, handing the defending La Liga champions their first draw of the campaign. Stuani has in his account 8 goals and third on the list in La Liga.


Krzysztof Piatek

The Polish international has been a revelation for Seria A side Genoa this season. Piatek is the leading goal scorer in Italy this season with 9 goals with no assist.

Cristiano Ronaldo
The former Madrid star took his time getting rolling in Serie A but has moved up to second in the league scoring charts with 8 goals and 5 assists to his account for Juventus.

Ciro Immobile
Lazio's star man is once again finding the net with regularity and will be one to watch in Serie A as the season goes by. He has netted 8 goals in the campaign so far with an assist.


Luka Jovic

The 20-year-old Serb has been the driving force for Bundesliga side Frankfurt this season also with 9 goals and 2 assists this season. Frankfurt is 4th on the table thanks to his goals. He scored five times against Dusseldorf on October 19th, becoming the youngest player in Bundesliga history to do so, rocketing himself up the scoring charts in Germany.

Sebastien Haller

The 24-year-old Frenchman is enjoying another productive season in front of goal and will be hoping to hit double figures for the first time in the Bundesliga for his side Eintracht Frankfurt. He has already scored 8 goals with 5 assists.

Sergio Aguero

Manchester City's all-time top-scorer is in immense form for the Premier League champions once again having netted a hat-trick against Huddersfield in his second game of the season and been on target again in a derby date with Man United over the weekend sits on top of the chart with 8 goals and 4 assists.

Eden Hazard 

The Belgian was linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer following an impressive World Cup campaign but has opted to remain at Stamford Bridge for the time being, and is currently the second top-scorer of the Premier League with 7 goals and 4 assists.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been in fine goalscoring form, helping Unai Emery make an encouraging start to life as Arsene Wenger's successor at Arsenal. The Gabonese is on the third spot with 7 goals and an assist.
