Dreams FC part ways with head coach Vladislav Viric

Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC have parted ways with their head coach Vladislav Viric following a string of poor performances which includes Sunday defeat to Berekum Chelsea.

The coach couldn't help as he watched his side suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea, their 6th loss of the season. 

The club in statement said the decision to end their relationship with the Serbian is due to 'issues concerning the club’s performance and personal reasons cited by Viric'

CAF names AFCON 2021 Best XI

CAF have revealed the outstanding performers of the just ended AFCON 2021 staged in Cameroon.

The tournament which ended on Sunday saw Senegal crowned winners of the 33rd edition of Africa's biggest football tournament after seeing off Egypt at the Olembe Stadium.

Due to their consistent performance in the tournament, it comes as no major surprise that had the lion's share of players (4) chosen of their players have been included in CAF's Best XI with their manager named as the best tactician.

However, runners-up Egypt had 3 players while third-placed team Cameroon had 2 of the players chosen. Burkina Faso and Morocco had one player apiece named in the squad.

Senegal's football team have been given a hero's welcome upon their return home after winning the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time.

Tens of thousands of ecstatic revellers celebrated the players' return to Dakar, sitting on top of cars and dancing in the capital's streets.

President Macky Sall was among those greeting the team at the airport.

When coach Aliou Cissé raised the trophy cup from the roof of the team's victory bus, crowds cheered in delight.

AFCON 2021: Didier Drogba aims dig at Jurgen Klopp after Senegal's triumph

Didier Drogba has taken to social media to respond to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp's comments about the Africa Cup of Nations being a "little tournament."

Following Liverpool's 4-0 win over Arsenal in the Premier League last November, Klopp seemed to refer to AFCON as a small tournament.

“I’ve heard that so often that there’s no international break until March. In January, there’s a little tournament in Africa, I just want to say, and I think Asia is playing games, too – South America as well, great, can’t wait," Klopp said.

Klopp clarified a days later that he did not mean to disrespect the tournament and that his words had been taken out of context.

NBA roundup: Jazz rally past Knicks

Donovan Mitchell scored 32 points and the Utah Jazz erased a double-digit, second-half deficit to defeat the New York Knicks 113-104 on Monday night in Salt Lake City.
