Kamaldeen speaks on 'embarrassing dance' at AFCON 2021

Kamaldeen Sulemana has opened up on his first appearance in an AFCON tournament.

According to the Stade Rennais winger, his first appearance at the continent's biggest football Mundial did not go to plan, as the Black Stars put up an embarrassing performance.

In a post, Kamaldeen opined that he has picked up great lessons from his debut AFCON and will come back stronger.

He thanked Ghanaians for their support and further asked for forgiveness following the Black Stars' failure to end the nation's 40-year AFCON drought.
 

Hearts of Oak midfielder Salifu Ibrahim ruled out for 3 weeks

Hearts of Oak have confirmed that Salifu Ibrahim will be out for three weeks due to injury.

The club in a statement said "Salifu Ibrahim will be out for 3 weeks after he fractured his right little toe during our game against Karela United.

We will continue to update our fans on any new development."

Rafael Nadal moved to within two matches of a record 21st Grand Slam title with a dogfight five-set quarter-final win over Denis Shapovalov at the Australian Open on Tuesday.

The Spanish sixth seed edged the Canadian 14th seed 6-3, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 6-3 in 4hr 8min of thrilling action on Rod Laver Arena to advance to his seventh semi-final in Melbourne where he will face either Matteo Berrettini or Gael Monfils.

It was a gritty win for Nadal over the 22-year-old, who was coming off a straight-sets upset of third seed Alexander Zverev.

AFCON 2021: Eight dead in stampede at Olembe Stadium

Eight people were killed and about 50 injured in a crush outside a Cameroonian football stadium Monday ahead of an AFCON 2021 match.

Crowds attempted to enter through a southern entrance at Olembe stadium in the capital Yaounde to watch the host nation play Comoros.

Although the stadium's capacity of 60,000 has been limited over coronavirus fears, the 60 percent cap is raised to 80 percent when Cameroon's Indomitable Lions play.
