Vodafone ends Global Wellbeing Month with sporting activities

Vodafone Ghana, climaxed its Global Wellbeing Month by engaging employees in several sporting activities at the Burma Camp Leisure Center in Accra in an event dubbed the “Business Fusion session.”

The event saw employees competing in several sporting disciplines including football, sack race, athletics, weightlifting, volleyball, basketball, swimming as well as netball.

The event was aimed at team bonding to entrench the spirit of good health and exercises amongst employees.

Participants who were from all the Vodafone branches across the country, were grouped into four teams to compete among each other.

The groups were, White, Purple, Red and Orange and all exhibited good sense of sportsmanship while keenly competing to win the ultimate.

Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Vodafone Ghana, Yolanda Cuba said healthy life and wellbeing is very important to the company and as they serve customers, it is also important to bring employees together to share ideas and interact in a sporting atmosphere.

“As an organization, it is important for us to know how to relate with each other and engage our employees who remain our biggest assets and ensure they are happy and healthy,” she stated.

People from different departments she said, were put together in a team to ensure they collaborate in sports, which would also reflect in the office work.

The event she said, was the apex of all the events for the month which included cycling, aerobics and other healthy activities.

According to her, Vodafone wants a productive society and would continue to invest in employees and customers to ensure everyone is healthy.
