The striker who had initially trained with Al Qadsia in Kuwait becomes the third Ghanaian attacker to join the Egyptian top-flight side after former Hearts of Oak striker Samuel Affum and Seidu Bancey formerly of Kotoko.

Sarfo had a stellar season in Ghana after winning the golden boot at the 2017 WAFU and also scoring 13 goals in the Ghana Premier League for Berekum Chelsea.
