We need GH₵ 7.2m for our 6-months mandate-Normalization Committee tells Gov’t

The Normalization Committee has requested for a whopping amount of GH₵ 7.2 million ($1.5 million) from the Government of Ghana to enable them to carry out its mandate.

This was revealed by the Dr Kofi Amoah led Committee on Tuesday, 6 October 2018 during a meeting with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth and Sports.

 Among the lined up plans for the Committee is to run the local league which has been halted for almost six months.

Among the projected plans is that the said amount would also cover the various National teams.

The Committee did not disclose the projected budget to be spent for on the Black Queens for the upcoming African Women’s Nation Cup 2018.

Moreover, the Black Maidens are also currently in Brazil preparing for the FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup. The tournament will take place in Uruguay next week.

The Senior National Team, Black Stars are due to play Ethiopia on November, 18 in Addis Ababa. This will be a qualification for the 2019 Nations Cup.

The Normalization Committee will also review the GFA statutes to ensure compliance with the requirements of FIFA and CAF, particularly art. 15 of the FIFA Statutes and once the GFA statutes meet the requirements of FIFA and CAF, to organize and conduct elections of a GFA executive committee on the basis of the revised GFA statutes.


The specified period of time during which the normalization committee shall perform its functions shall expire when all of the above-mentioned tasks have been properly fulfilled, but by no later than 31 March 2019.
