When Pep Guardiola needed a hero, it was Yaya Toure who showed up. The fairy tale of Toure's return became a happy ending for Manchester City and Guardiola.

After being included shockingly into the Manchester City squad against Crystal Palace, Yaya Toure scored twice to give Manchester City a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.

The “Prodigal Son”gave Manchester City the lead in the 39th minute as Palace were resolute and hoping to end the first half goalless.

After a one-two with Nolito, Toure fired into the top corner with a trade mark strike to give City a 1-0 lead at half time.

But Pep Guardiola was almost denied the three points as Crystal Palace equalized in the 66th minute through Connor Wickham.

The hero,Toure then came back to score again in the 83rd minute to restore the lead for Manchester City.

It was a game that could be described as the return and ressurrection of Yaya Toure as he was all over the pitch and secured the three points for Manchester City.

The last time Toure played for City was in August in the Champions League.

Meanwhile Liverpool drew 0-0 with Southampton and Chelsea would go on top of the league table if they win tomorrow.
