The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has paid GH¢2.3 billion to bondholders under the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP), completing its mandatory payment obligations for 2026.

The Board said it settled GH¢2,306,202,372.09 to holders of bonds affected by the debt exchange.

The latest payment brings COCOBOD’s total payments to DDEP bondholders for the year to GH¢2.68 billion.

An earlier coupon payment of GH¢376.33 million was made in March 2026.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 1, COCOBOD said the payments form part of its efforts to meet its financial obligations and strengthen the financial sustainability of the cocoa sector.

The Board also disclosed that it had fully settled GH¢162 million owed to Cocoa Bills holders who did not participate in the DDEP.

That payment, made in July 2026, brought to an end COCOBOD’s outstanding obligations to the affected non-DDEP Cocoa Bill holders.

“Taken together, these payments demonstrate the Board’s commitment to responsible financial management and the systematic settlement of its financial obligations,” COCOBOD said.
