Edwin Provencal named new CEO of BOST by Prez. Akufo-Addo

Mr. Edwin Provencal has been nominated by President Akufo-Addo to be the new Chief Executive Officer for the Bulk Oil and Transport (BOST) company limited.


Mr Edwin Provencal if confirmed by the Management Board of BOST will replace George Mensah Okley, who resigned from the position last Friday.

Mr Mensah Okley resignation according to reports from Graphiconline said it may be linked to the issue of contracts at BOST.

Mr Mensah Okley served a little over two years at the state entity.

President Nana Akufo-Addo appointed Mr Okley in 2017 after his predecessor Alfred Obeng Boateng was kicked out.

Mr Provencal is currently the Technical Director to the Energy Minister, John Peter Amewu.

A statement signed by Deputy Energy Minister, Joseph Cudjoe, on Monday, August 26, requested the Board to take “due note and assess the suitability of Mr. Provencal for the appointment accordingly.”

In a statement hours after the appointment, Chair of the BOST Board, Ekow Hackman said “Pending the assumption of office by the Managing Director, Mr Moses Mensah Assem, the Deputy Managing Director of BOST, will act as Managing Director.

”The Board wishes to assure all stakeholder and the general public that the company operations will continue uninterrupted.”

The Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) was incorporated in December 1993 as a private limited liability company with the Government of Ghana as the sole shareholder.
