Telecel launches operations in Ghana

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on March 11, 2024, joined key figures in the telecommunications sector for the official launch of operations of Telecel Ghana.

Telecel Ghana, having acquired a majority stake in the company formerly known as Vodafone Ghana, was welcomed by Dr. Bawumia with high expectations.

During the launch, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of upholding ethical standards, transparency, and corporate governance.

He urged Telecel Ghana to prioritize the expansion of its network and to foster innovation in its operations. This, he asserted, is crucial for ensuring that network services remain accessible, safe, affordable, and reliable for all customers.

Furthermore, Dr. Bawumia called upon Telecel Ghana and other stakeholders in the telecommunications and fintech industries to fulfill their corporate social responsibilities.

He highlighted the significance of investing in the digital skills of young Ghanaians, emphasizing their role in shaping the future of the nation amid the embrace of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
