Afua Asantewaa and her husband were in Tamale on Thursday to show their love and support for Faila who is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon

Chef Failatu is currently on a mission to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

She aims to reach a staggering 120 hours, equivalent to about five days of continuous cooking, to surpass the existing record held by Irish Chef Alan Fisher, who achieved an impressive 119 hours and 57 minutes.

Madam Asantewaa who had recently concluded her sing-a-thon attempt was accompanied by her husband.

They also had a taste of Chef Failatu's culinary skills, like the other Ghanaians at the venue.

The mother of three said she had to come to support Chef Failatu because she understands that breaking the record is not easy.

“She is going through a lot, psychologically, mentally, physically- you have no idea.  All this she is seeing is mind-blowing. She does not understand what is happening but all she knows is that she needs to be focused,” she said.

Madam Asantewaa said that although Chef Failatu did not fully understand what was happening, she was content to see the support Ghanaians gave, as it was a motivation to finish breaking the record and create another.

Chef Failatu commenced her marathon cooking session at midnight of January 1, 2024. She has since completed 90 hours.
