Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo, recently found himself in trouble when his former girlfriend reported him to the Osu police for refusing to pay a debt of GHC30,000, according to a report by ghanacelebrities.com.
The unnamed lady said she had tried everything but the actor was refusing to pay the money.
The police reportedly asked her to itemize all the sums of money she gave to Dumelo since 2013 and what they were meant for.
It totalled GHC40, 000 but she said, according to the report, that Dumelo had already paid GHC10,000.
The report said police officials asked Dumelo to sign a cheque for GHC30,000 to cover the debt, which he did.
It will be recalled that in 2013, investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas threatened to “expose†John Dumelo for allegedly defrauding a Ghanaian woman based in Australia.
“Somebody should be whispering into John Dumelo’s ears that whereas it is a fantastic idea to own a clothing line, it is not ideal to do that at the expense of a three-month-old baby and the mum. I may be forced to release some audio tapes on him on the saga.
“It is not fair to reap where you have not sown. If the matter is not put to rest in two weeks, I would release them for people to make their own judgement on the Australian issue,†Anas wrote on his Facebook page.
