Dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known in showbiz as Shatta Wale, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) after successfully meeting his revised bail conditions.
His release comes after the initial bail amount of GH₵10 million was reduced to GH₵5 million, requiring two sureties.
The new conditions also require Shatta Wale to report to EOCO three times a week as the investigation continues.
This release follows days of legal proceedings tied to allegations concerning the acquisition of a Lamborghini Urus—specifically, alleged failure to prove legitimate ownership of the vehicle.
An official statement issued by EOCO on Thursday, August 21, 2025, noted that Shatta Wale could not furnish credible proof of ownership or lawful acquisition of the vehicle.
He claimed to have bought it “from the Street,” allegedly dealing through an individual named “ZAK” via WhatsApp, whom he could neither properly identify nor contact again.
EOCO also highlighted that Shatta Wale failed to present any formal documents—such as a sales receipt or transfer papers. The only document he possessed was a customs declaration form bearing the name Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving a prison sentence.
