Fuel price at Total Service stations has been increased by 4% as at today, 5th January, 2018.

Primenewsghana.com can confirm that the fuel price that used to trade at Ghc4.490/litre for both petrol and diesel has seen an increase to 4.670, a difference of about 18p or a 4.008% increase per gallon. With the increase, price per gallon is now Ghc21.015 from the previous Ghc20.20 for both products.

Meanwhile, an earlier press release on January 1, 2018 by the National Petroleum Authority, assured Ghanaians that some interventions had been made to keep fuel prices stable at the pumps through the month of January.

The NPA further stated that it had activated the price stabilization mechanism to avoid any upward adjustment in prices in line with a directive from the Ministry of Energy.

It is however unclear the factors that have led to the increase in fuel prices at some pumps including Total Service Station and Petrosol. Contrary to the new development, Prime News' checks reveal that prices continue to remain stable at Shell filling stations.
