Alavanyo gods will deal with anyone who gives false testimony in court - Family members of 'coup' plotters

Some family members of those accused of plotting to destabilise the country have poured libation to curse any witness who testifies falsely against the suspects in court.

Some nine individuals who were accused of plotting to destabilise the country have been charged with treason felony.

The charge was made known at the Kaneshie Magistrate court today, October 9, 2019.

According to Joy News reporter Joseph Ackah-Blay who was in court,  after the nine were charged a man who happens to be a relative of one of the suspects took matters into his own hands 'spiritually'.

He poured libations in front of the courtroom as he mentioned names of some gods to deal with anyone who testifies falsely against the suspects, the names of the gods he called only suggests that he hails from the Volta part of Ghana.

"The libation we poured is mainly for those they will come as false witnesses, we call on the gods of Alavanyo, gods of Kpando and Avatime should take care of those people, if they tell lies the gods will deal with them"

"Someone doing this is probably doing if for certain favour or to satisfy somebody," he added.

The nine suspects include Dr. Fredrick Mac Palm, Col. Samuel Kojo Gameli, Geshong Akpa, WO2 Esther Doku, Lance Corporal Ali Solomon, Lance Corporal Albert Baba Ibrahim, Lance Corporal Sylvester Akapewu and Corporal Seidu Abubakar.

The charge sheet read: “1. Conspiracy to commit treason felony 2. Treason felony 3. Possession of explosives, firearms, and ammunition unlawfully.

The accused persons are reported to have drawn up a plan to target some key installations including the Jubilee House, the Ghana Broadcast Corporation, the National police training school, 37 Military Hospital, and Burma Camp.
