The timely intervention of police officers at the funeral of the late Abuakwa North MP, J.B. Danquah-Adu at Akyem Tafo prevented a potential bloodshed as the delegations  of the Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II and that of the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II to the funeral of the late J.B Danquah-Adu reportedly clashed at the ceremony on Saturday.

The chaos, according to starrfmonline, started as the representatives of the Asantehene at the funeral led by Asamponhene, Oheneba Kwadwo Afoduor, refused to stand on their feet during the arrival of the Okyehene at the funeral grounds, an occurrence which infuriated the bodyguards of the Okyehene.

The bodyguards confronted the Asantehene’s entourage and threatened to remove the crown on the head of the Asamponhene sparking the scuffle.

The funeral which was attended by high profile personalities including the flagbearer of opposition NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo, General Secretary of NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia and a huge number of legislators and government officials was temporarily put on hold as police tried to avert the crisis.

A later attempt by the Otumfuo's Asamponhene to broker peace with the Okyehene proved futile as he was snubbed by the entourage of the Okyehene.
