The Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council (ARCC) has announced some emergency security measures in response to the recent killing of the Kusase Chief, Alhaji Abdul-Malik Azenbge.
The traditional leader was fatally shot at Asewase on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, by unknown assailants
In a press release signed by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) outlined four immediate directives following an emergency meeting held on Wednesday, July 24.

The measures are aimed at restoring peace and preventing further violence in the area.
These include an immediate ban on the use of motorbikes after 7:00 pm across the region, a strict prohibition on the use of unlicensed motorbikes, and those without proper lighting.
Riders have been barred from wearing smocks, a garment the council says is increasingly being used to conceal weapons.
The council also suspended the ongoing inter-tribal football competition in the region.
“There will be increased security presence in hotspot areas, involving both the Police and Military, to ensure peace and protect lives and property,” the statement said.
Dr. Frank Amoakohene, who signed the statement, assured the public of the government’s commitment to law and order.
He urged citizens to cooperate with ongoing investigations and report any credible information to security services.
“The doors of the Security Services remain open to receive credible information that can assist in identifying and apprehending those responsible,” Dr. Amoakohene said.
REGSEC reaffirmed its dedication to public safety and law enforcement, pledging to bring the perpetrators of the killing to justice.
