Interparty Coalition for National Sovereignty will today February 7 embark on a demonstration in protest of the pockets of violence that coupled the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

The coalition will march through some principal streets of Accra and later present their petition to the Inspector General of Police, David Asante Apeatu and the Interior Minister Ambrose Dery.

According to the convenor of the group and Chairman of the PNC, Bernard Monah, the march is to demonstrate how worried they have become about security issues in the country, following the reported cases of kidnapping and the recent violence cases recorded at the Ayawaso West by-election.

He added that it is a call on the security apparatus of the country to sit up and deliver on the mandates to the citizens.

Days after the violence scenes recorded at the Ayawaso West by-election, the Ghana Police Service and the Presidency have separately launched an investigation into the circumstances that led to the gunshots at the election grounds and subsequent assault on some voters.
