In the Brong Ahafo Region, a 20-year-old head porter, Patience Anane has been arrested by the police at Kwame Danso for allegedly escaping from Kumasi with a six-month-old baby left in her care.

On January 13, 2019, at about 10 a.m the mother of the baby, Abena Kubilla, left her six-month-old baby boy in the care of Patience at Kwame Antwi Lorry Station, near Race Course, to go and wash the baby’s clothes.

When she returned, the baby, together with Patience, was nowhere to be found. Consequently, she lodged a complaint with the Suame District Police.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr Godwin Ahianyo  said following the theft and the subsequent complaint, the police initiated investigations into the issue and at about 8 p.m.on Thursday, January 17, 2019, “two young men arrested the suspect at Bantama, a suburb of Kwame Danso, in the Brong Ahafo Region, together with the baby, and handed her over to the Police at Kwame Danso.”
