The Chief Executive Officer of the Nation Builders Corps, NABCO Dr Ibrahim Anyars has urged beneficiaries to pursue their career choices to make continual progress in their lives.

According to Mr Ibrahim Anyars, NABCO beneficiaries should use the programme as a stepping stone to attain higher heights in their career choice saying 'this temporary relief does not mean you should stop searching for jobs'.

Speaking on Starr FM, today October 22, 2019, the NABCO CEO Mr Anyars charged the beneficiaries of the programme to take the advantages presented to them to grow in their career path.

''NABCO is a temporary relief for our graduates and the attempt is to make sure that at the end of the 36-month programme period they will be able to exit to very productive ventures with a lot of them achieving retention in their various places of work. Having exited tertiary education and not having a job for years robs them of their dignity so a lot of them are quite aware of what NABCO has come to do and are embracing the scheme and opportunities offered them''.

''If you are a NABCO trainee reflect on the life before you joined NABCO that must always be the frame in which you operate and know that while you're given this temporary relief does not mean you should stop searching for jobs, and does not stop the pursuit of your career choice''.

Mr Anyars also charged NABCO beneficiaries to be dedicated to their work. Adding to that he said beneficiaries who have received their monthly stipend should not use that as a basis to show negative attitudes towards work.

He further indicated that issues regarding the delay in the payment of monthly stipends will be addressed accordingly.

The Nation Builders Corps celebrated its first-anniversary last week, October 17, 2019, in Accra.

Speaking at the event President Akufo-Addo called on employers in both private and public sectors to consider permanent employment for beneficiaries under Nation Builder’s Corps (NABCO) programme when opportunities for employment pop up in every organization.

The President said the contribution of these beneficiaries will help boost the economy and generate enough revenue for the State.

He revealed that prior to the inception of the programme, these beneficiaries had no option than to join unemployed groups like the Unemployed Graduates Association of Ghana.

He mentioned that previously, it took decades for graduates from the various tertiary institutions to find jobs but the story has changed through the inception of the government's flagship programme, the Nation Builders Corps, NABCO.

Meanwhile, over 11,000 NABCO beneficiaries have already exited the Scheme for permanent employment in both the public and private sectors.
