The thirteen members of  Delta Force, a pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group who escaped from custody after being remanded by a Kumasi Circuit Court, have been fined GHS2,400 (200 penalty units) each.Â
The convicts, Kojo Fosu Bamba aka Kojo Bamba; Awal Sadat Abubakar; Abubakar Sadiq Abuhammed;Â Jamil Issa; Hamza Mohammed; Salu Issahak;Â Akwasi Owusu; Kwabena Owusu; Kofi Kyei;Â Agya Boadi; Salu Yussif; Yussif Salu; and Kwaku Awortwe were also ordered to sign a bond of good behaviour for a period of six months or in default serve three years in prison.

They have also been remanded for two weeks and will be reappear in court on April 20.

This was after the13 convicts who appeared before a court presided over by Mr Ekow Mensh on Tuesday, April 11 pleaded guilty to the charges of assault on public officer, causing unlawful damage, rioting and conspiracy to commit crime.

They had escaped from the Kumasi Circuit Court where they were standing trial for assaulting the Ashanti Regional security coordinator at his office, a few weeks earlier after some members of the Delta Force stormed the court verbally assaulted the presiding judge Mary Nsenkyire who had ordered the 13 to be remanded in custody before freeing them.
