The Minority Caucus in Parliament on Thursday staged a walkout ahead of the scheduled delivery of the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review by the Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
The action follows the controversial Ablekuma North rerun, which the Minority claims was characterised by voter intimidation, violence, and the misuse of state security apparatus.
Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, declared that the group could not, in good conscience, lend legitimacy to the budget proceedings while remaining silent on what they characterised as “a grave assault on democratic processes”.

Clad in black, the MPs marched out of Parliament shortly before Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson was scheduled to deliver the budget statement.
The walkout drew sharp criticism from the Majority side, with some members hooting and jeering at the departing Minority MPs as they exited the chamber.
