The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the opening of applications for promotion to upper grades within its non-teaching staff category for the 2024/2025 academic year.

In a circular dated September 24, 2025, and signed by Prof. Smile Dzisi, Acting Deputy Director-General (MS), the Service invited suitably qualified officers across multiple classes, including Accounting, Internal Audit, Administrative, Catering, Technical, Librarian, Supply, Laboratory Technician, Secretarial, and Driver classes.

Positions available for promotion range from Chief Accountant, Chief Internal Auditor, Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Domestic Bursar, and Chief Technical Officer to Chief Librarian, Chief Supply Officer, Chief Laboratory Technician, Principal Private Secretary, and Chief Driver, among others.

Applicants are required to have been promoted to their current grade on or before 2021 and must demonstrate continuous satisfactory service and good conduct since then. Those applying with Master’s or PhD certificates must ensure their qualifications were obtained in or before 2022.

GES has outlined that all applications should be submitted online through the designated portal (https://bit.ly/GESPROMOTION25).  Required documents include the applicant’s last promotion or appointment letter, Master’s/Doctorate certificate (where applicable), and a recent passport-sized photograph. All uploads must be in clear and readable PDF format.

The deadline for submission is October 10, 2025.

The Service emphasized that failure to comply with the guidelines will lead to outright disqualification and urged regional directors to communicate the notice to all eligible officers promptly.
