Ghana @61 - The Republic of Ghana on Tuesday, March 6, 2017, turned 61 years since it attained independence from the British after over 100 years of colonial rule.

Formerly known as the Gold Coast, Ghana was the first Sub-Saharan African country to attain independence on the back of Ghana’s first President and his Pan-African ethos, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

The celebration was marked with a parade by officers and men drawn from the Armed Forces and various Security Services as well as teachers and students from first and second cycle institutions in the Accra Metropolise.
