The hopes of a Ghanaian resident in the U.K to get married to her German lover so she could get protection from deportation were dashed when the polices scuppered her plans, arrested her for a court to finally sentence her to 6 months imprisonment.
Cecilia Siaw, 45, was picked by the police for immigration offences and escorted away from her German fiancé at Portsmouth Register Office, Hants.
Madam Siaw, a qualified teacher, stands accused of over-staying her welcome to the U.K in 2009 then proceeded to use fake identification and documents to elude arrest.
It emerged, after being denied the chance to live in the United Kingdom after 2103, Madam Siaw purchased dubious documents from a man who claimed to work for the Home Office.
A prosecutor stated in an interview with the The Mirror that she claimed she bought the document from a man on a train for £5,000.
