Former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame on Monday morning reported to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service following an invitation to him in relation to a petition filed by Richard Jakpa.
Richard Jakpa, a Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat, had petitioned the CID, asking that Mr Dame should be investigated for "fabrication of evidence" during his tenure as A-G.
According to Richard Jakpa, in the case of causing financial loss to the state in the procurement of ambulances which was before the High Court in Accra, in which he [Jakpa] and the current Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson were accused persons, Mr Godfred Dame, then Attorney-General, attempted for him [Jakpa] to testify in a particular way "so as to dishonestly, wickedly and without an iota of conscience implicate Dr. Ato Forson and to also lie to the court by procuring a false excuse duty which constitute a crime (Fabrication of evidence).
Following Mr Dame to the CID office on Monday morning were a number of lawyers who were there to support him.
He therefore wants the CID to investigate Godfred Dame and "be made to face the full consequences if found to be culpable."
He made the accusation in a petition dated September 23, 2025, and addressed to the Director of CID.
