Ghana Television (GTV) and TV3 Network will provide live coverage for the probe into bribery allegations against the leadership of the Appointments Committee of parliament.
Kate Addo, the director of public affairs of Parliament, revealed this in an interview with Accra-based Asempa FM.
 “Tomorrow at exactly 11 o’clock the Committee will start its public hearing. GTV has given an indication that they will telecast the proceedings live for every Ghanaian to see what will transpire.
“We are also expecting TV3 to provide a live coverage of proceedings. The Committee has already started with its preliminary works. They have met a couple of times and at the time they met they discussed their mandate and then they discussed the way forward,†she said.
The five-member committee chaired by Joe Ghartey, the minister for railway development, will start its investigations into the allegation made by Mahama Ayariga, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and Alhassane Suhuyini, to the effect that the energy minister, Boakye Agyarko, bribed them with GHC3,000 each.
The three MPs claimed that Agyarko funneled the money through Joe Osei-Owusu, the chairman of the appointments committee, and Mubarak Muntaka, the minority ranking member.
Already, Ablakwa has indicated that he stands by the bribery allegation.
“This is the truth and God is my witness. I will not bare false witness. Remember in the Bible that the 10 commandments speak against this. There is a grave sanction for you if you are a Christian and you bear false witness. I wouldn’t tell a lie on somebodyâ€, he told Accra-based Radio Gold.
