The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has deployed a special investigations team to support the Ashanti Region Police Command with ongoing investigations into the death of Senegalese national Cheith Toure in Kumasi.

The special team is made up of homicide investigators, forensic experts and intelligence officers.

So far, police have gathered that on October 16, 2025, one Issah, who claimed to be the deceased's brother, took the deceased to the Manhyia Government Hospital, with several abdominal injuries, alleging that the victim had been involved in an accident.
