Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak has commissioned a new police station at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) to enhance security and provide better policing services to the university community.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister commended the Ghana Police Service and UPSA community for their collaboration in realising the project, emphasizing Government’s commitment to improving policing services nationwide. “This police station is a testament to our dedication to ensuring the safety and security of our citizens,” he stated.
Muntaka reaffirmed Government’s commitment to supporting security agencies in their efforts to ensure the safety and security of citizens and urged the community to partner with the police and identify and address security concerns and promote a culture of safety and security.
In a statement read on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, expressed his commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity in enforcing law and order, and maintaining peace to the best of their abilities.
The Vice Chancellor of UPSA, Prof. John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor expressed gratitude to the government and the Ghana Police Service for the partnership in putting up the police station. He noted that the facility will enhance the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors and will contribute to a conducive learning environment.
The commissioning was also attended by the Deputy Minister for the Interior, Hon. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, the Ag. Chief Director of the Ministry of the Interior, Mrs. Doreen Annan, members of the Police Management Board, and management of UPSA.
